Our Rotherham branch is an RCVS accredited Tier 3 hospital. It is open 24 hours a day, and is equipped to allow advanced diagnostics and treatment of patients, with facilities for digital x-ray, ultrasonography, flexible and rigid endoscopy and laparoscopic “key hole” surgery.
The building was refurbished in spring 2014 with the interior undergoing a complete re-design to maximise the space available. The spacious waiting room leads onto four consultation rooms. Having four rooms allows us to spend more time on the appointments that require it, be it a pre-surgical consultation, an introduction to care of a diabetic pet, or saying goodbye to a much loved friend.
Behind the scenes the practice is centred around a large prep-room in which patients are prepared for surgery, and minor procedures such as blood samples are performed. Leading off the prep room are three spacious theatres for clean operations, a designated dental room for dental work and contaminated procedures, and the radiography (x-ray) room. The intensive care unit (ICU) is situated within the prep room, allowing the most critical patient to be closely monitored, as well as those recovering from anaesthetics.
The hospital benefits from separate dog, cat and exotic pet wards, with an additional three spacious runs for larger canine patients or those staying for longer time periods. Finally, there are designated rooms for surgical sterilisation, laundry and equipment cleaning, a laboratory for blood and urine testing, and the dispensary where pharmaceuticals are stored.
