Springfield Veterinary Group was established in 1964, with our main hospital branch having served the animals of Rotherham for over 50 years. Over time the business has expanded throughout South Yorkshire and now runs eight busy branches. In 2006 Springfield became part of CVS (UK) Ltd, and now operates as part of this larger group of veterinary practices and veterinary service providers. This allows us to share skills and expertise with other nearby practices, helping us give your pet the high level of care our clients have come to expect.
All of our practices participate in the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. In October 2017 our Rotherham Hospital was assessed and rated as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, gaining the six available additional awards – only the second practice in the country to achieve this!
Our team of 25 vets is headed by clinical director Dr William Taylor. Our four operating branches (Rotherham, Firth Park, Crystal Peaks and Richmond) are staffed by qualified veterinary nurses, but we are proud to have three training branches allowing us to train our own student nurses.
At Springfield we strive to provide a high level of care, and strongly encourage our vets to continue professional development and further study. Several of our vets have completed certificates in advanced veterinary practice; a qualification requiring 600 hours of study! Most of our vets have areas of special interest; for more information please see our meet the team page.
